OVERVIEW

As part of the international expansion of GO FOR KOGEI, which has been held annually in the Hokuriku region since 2020, NPO Syuto Kanazawa organized the exhibition Ethnography of Body and Material: Slowness and Depth in an Accelerated Society, concurrent to the 61st International Art Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia. Curated by GO FOR KOGEI Artistic Director Yuji Akimoto, the exhibition presented approximately 100 works by 10 artists in a historic Venetian noble residence. Exploring the time consciousness and embodied perception inherent in the act of making, the exhibition responded to the accelerating pace of information and consumption in contemporary society. It also proposed craft not merely as a genre, but as a critical lens through which contemporary art itself can be reinterpreted. The exhibition design was developed by architect Kulapat Yantrasast, internationally recognized for his museum architecture and exhibition design projects around the world. Our company was responsible for the overall project management, including project planning, curatorial development, coordination with participating artists, venue operations, public relations, and communications, overseeing the realization of the exhibition from concept to completion.
