Project Management GO FOR KOGEI 2025
OVERVIEW
Go for Kogei 2025 presented an exhibition featuring 18 groups of creators in the same two areas as last year, Toyama City and Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture. Drawing inspiration from Kogeiteki naru mono (Craft-like Attributes), an essay written by the founder of the Mingei movement, Muneyoshi (Soetsu) Yanagi, it presented insight that uncovers craft-based qualities within every aspect of everyday life. It was an attempt to paradoxically reexamine the shared contemporary aesthetics and values. The project was developed focusing on the various relationships behind objects, such as the relationship with others fostered through the creative process and communications via the resulting work. During the exhibition period, various events were held, including tea ceremonies and meals, as well as practices to explore the nexus between society and crafts, or creative production, such as a pop-up cafe and workshops in the exhibition venues. Noetica, serving as the Project Management Office since 2021, provided comprehensive project management from planning and coordination to operation and public relations. Furthermore, we took part in curation under the leadership of artistic director Yuji Akimoto this year.
