Commission Work KUMU Kanazawa by THE SHARE HOTELS
OVERVIEW
KUMU Kanazawa opened in 2017 as a salon for passing on Kanazawa’s deep-rooted samurai culture, including Zen and tea ceremony traditions, to future generations. Thirteen art pieces created by six artist groups born in the 1970s and 1980s are placed in common spaces and guest rooms. These contemporary interpretations, inspired by Kanazawa’s tea and Zen traditions and cultures, serve as a gateway for hotel guests to discover the depth of Kanazawa. Noetica was responsible for curating permanent art displays for the hotel, as well as production and installation supervision.
