Project Management Kuroshima Fukuura Art Project
OVERVIEW
This art project took place in the two areas of the Noto Peninsula, which once flourished due to the Kitamaebune trade. It was originally launched in the Kuroshima area in 2022 and expanded to the Fukuura area of Shika Town in Ishikawa Prefecture in 2023. Six artists, including three new participants, engaged with each area through artistic approaches. They organized exhibitions, workshops, live performances, and other hands-on programs to discover the area’s appeal. In collaboration with local residents and visitors, the project aimed to find ways to pass on indigenous traditions and cultural heritage in these areas to future generations. Following our previous involvement, Noetica was responsible for overall project planning and curation.
